What is the Photography Scavenger Hunt?
The Photography Scavenger Hunt is a fun way to stretch your photography and creative skills alongside hundreds of other Scavengers from around the globe.
We are a community of supportive, inspiring, and creative people that are always looking for more amazing people to add to the fold.
All skill levels are welcome, all cameras are welcome. Film, digital, mobile, point & shoot, on up to large format photography. There are no limits.
What makes the Hunt so special?

We support each other’s journey in becoming better photographers, better artists.
We met online, but we are so much more than that.
We are a family.

How do I participate?
Start by joining our free community.
- At the start of each month, we'll announce the word or phrase
- You'll have about 4 weeks to create the photo.*
- Upload your photo and wait for reveals at the end of the month!
* February is a bit shorter, because it's a special month.

Here are some common questions we are asked. Please contact us if you have a question not covered here.
What kind of camera do I need?
Whatever you have! We've had amazing entries from cell phones, pinhole cameras, old film, new film, on up to large format cameras. While gear can help you achieve specific effects and resolution, what you imagine and what you see are far more important.
How much time does each round take?
While you have a month to shoot, it normally doesn't take that long. Take as much time as you need. We encourage creativity, try out different angles, ideas, lighting, etc.
Can I still play if I'm a professional photographer
Of course! The Scavenger Hunt is a great way to break out of your professional style and try something new.
Is there a minimum age to participate?
Sort of. While we don't have a limit, Mighty Networks, where we have our Community requires users to be of the age of majority (i.e. an adult) based on where they live. If you are younger than that, we welcome you, but request a parent play along with you.
Can I get feedback on my photos?
Yes! We've just added a section in the Community for supportive and constructive feedback.
Can I participate if I'm a newbie?
Yes! The Hunt is a great place to learn and be inspired. Our community is very encouraging and supportive.
