Orange

“In my head, the sky is blue, the grass is green and cats are orange.”
― Jim Davis

Until the fruit was brought to Europe from India in the 1500s, there was no English word for the color. Phrases like red-yellow, tawny, and golden were used, but they aren't the bright orange we associate with the color today. Read more about it's interesting history on Lithub.
